Turkey Condemns Israel’s Settlement Plan
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that this move violates international law and United Nations resolutions, posing a serious threat to the territorial integrity of Palestine and the two-state solution.
The ministry stated that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only path to a just peace. It reaffirmed Turkey’s continued support for the Palestinian cause.
In a separate response, Ömer Çelik, spokesperson for the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), described the plan as a continuation of Israel’s “abhorrent genocidal policies,” stating:
“While the world is moving toward recognizing the State of Palestine, Israel continues its assault on humanitarian principles and the territorial integrity of Palestine.”
