Turkiye has successfully sent its sixth indigenous satellite into orbit
Fergani Space Technologies, founded on the initiative of Selcuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of Baykar, launched its sixth experimental satellite, FRG One Hundred D Four, developed with domestic engineering capability, into space from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in the United States.
According to Baykar’s statement, the satellite was launched as part of SpaceX’s Bandwagon Five mission and successfully separated from the launch vehicle at three oh seven PM Turkiye time, placing into its target orbit at an altitude of five hundred ninety kilometers.
The satellite uses fully domestic critical components and equipment developed at Fergani. It is also equipped with an AI powered computer to carry out advanced missions.
The FRG One Hundred D Four satellite, weighing one hundred sixty kilograms, was launched into space as an important step toward realizing the Ulug Bey satellite constellation.
Fergani Space Technologies plans to complete the Ulug Bey satellite constellation, consisting of more than two hundred satellites, within the next five years, fully relying on its own financial resources.
With the deployment of this satellite constellation, Turkiye will have an independent navigation and communications network and will be able to share this strategic capability with friendly and brotherly countries. Alongside completing the satellites in this constellation, work on developing a domestic launch vehicle continues.
