Al-Sisi’s Trip to Türkiye
According to a previous announcement, the President of Egypt arrived in the capital of Turkey to visit and met with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
This is al-Sisi’s first visit after the tension between Türkiye and Egypt. Earlier, Turkey had severed its relations with Egypt in protest against al-Sisi, whom they regarded as a coup plotter in Egypt, following the ousting of the president close to Turkey, Mohamed Morsi.
Meanwhile, Turkey has been trying to de-escalate tensions and establish relations with Egypt at different levels since last year. Erdoğan’s visit to Egypt was one of the main platforms for the normalization of relations between the two countries.
In the economic field, Egypt and Turkey are trying to increase their trade level to 15 billion dollars per year.
In the same way, the common positions of the two countries regarding the Gaza war have led to joint efforts between them to develop relations.
