Erdogan: Opportunity in Iran’s Ceasefire Should Be Utilized
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at a meeting of the Turkish Justice and Development Party’s Parliamentary Group, said that an opportunity in Iran’s ceasefire should be utilized and that Israel’s government should not be allowed to make the atmosphere explosive. Every time a peace initiative is put forward, the Israeli government tries to disrupt it.
He emphasized: “Peace talks regarding Iran cannot be conducted under the shadow of force and threats. We are in contact to reduce tension and extend the duration of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.”
Erdogan noted: “We are not losing hope for the continuation of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and the realization of lasting peace, and we continue our efforts to achieve peace in the region with all our capabilities. The continuation of Israel’s attacks against Lebanon damages hopes for regional peace. We will continue to follow the issue of the killing of children in Gaza and Lebanon.”
He added in another part of his speech: “I congratulate the Prime Minister of Spain for his stance on Gaza.”
