Iranian Minister of Agriculture: Motivation to Increase Cooperation Has Increased
The Iranian Minister of Agriculture announced the development of regional cooperation to ensure the country’s food security and stated that in this regard, the volume of agricultural trade between Iran and Turkey will be expanded.
Gholamreza Nuri Qezljeh, during his land journey from the Bazargan border terminal, visited the Iranian and Turkish halls and upon arrival, he was welcomed by the Governor of Agri and the Iranian Consul General in Erzurum. He met with his Turkish counterpart, the Minister of Agriculture of Turkey, merchants, and agricultural sector actors in Ankara.
The Iranian Minister of Agriculture stated that the purpose of this visit was to develop agricultural relations and ensure food security and added that facilitating customs procedures for the movement of products in both countries would be prioritized.
Upon his arrival in Turkey, he described the relations between Iran and Turkey as historical and strong and stated: “The trade volume between the two countries is relatively good, but in light of the new circumstances and regional developments, the motivation of both parties to increase cooperation has increased.”
Referring to the strong will and determination to develop trade and economic relations with Turkey, Nuri Qezljeh said: “We will develop trade and economic relations with our friend, brother, neighbor, and Muslim country, Turkey.”
Pointing out the similarity of climatic conditions in Iran and Turkey, he added: “The agricultural and food processing sectors are important areas for negotiation and developing relations; we plan to expand relations between the two countries not only in this area but also in the fields of transportation and customs, and to facilitate matters related to agricultural exports and trade.”
