Turkey and Oman Foreign Ministers Discuss Iran-US Negotiations
The foreign ministers of Turkey and Oman reviewed and consulted on the latest status of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States during a telephone call.
Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, spoke with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi. According to a report from Turkish Foreign Ministry sources, the two sides assessed the latest developments related to the negotiations between Tehran and Washington during this phone call.
Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, also held talks and exchanged views with Badr al-Busaidi in a separate call on Sunday regarding the latest regional developments and efforts to reach an agreement between Iran and the United States.
Oman’s official news agency reported that during this conversation, strategies to contain tensions and continue dialogue were discussed. Araghchi also informed his Omani counterpart about the latest diplomatic initiatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran to end the imposed war and tension-creating actions by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, and to establish peace in the region.
It is worth noting that Iran-US relations entered a new phase after the US and Israeli military aggression on Iranian soil on February 28 (March 9, 1405 on the Iranian calendar), followed by the cessation of hostilities on April 8. On April 11, Pakistan hosted a round of negotiations between the two sides, which did not lead to an agreement due to the excessive demands of the United States.
