Erdoğan and Mohammed al-Zaydi Discuss Strategic Cooperation between Ankara and Baghdad
The President of Turkey, in a phone call with Mohammed al-Zaydi, the candidate for Prime Minister of Iraq, emphasized the expansion of strategic cooperation between Ankara and Baghdad in various fields.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, spoke by phone with Mohammed al-Zaydi, the candidate for Prime Minister of Iraq.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, Erdoğan congratulated al-Zaydi on his candidacy for the position of Prime Minister of Iraq and expressed confidence that he would soon form an inclusive, balanced, and stable government in Iraq.
Erdoğan also emphasized that Turkey has significantly strengthened its close cooperation with Iraq within a strategic and institutional framework, and intends to further expand this cooperation in the new period.
The President of Turkey stated that Ankara is determined to advance relations with Iraq on important issues, including the Development Road Project, the fight against terrorism, defense industries, energy, and transportation.
