Burhaneddin Duran Congratulates on Turkish Language Day
Burhaneddin Duran, Head of the Communications Directorate of the Presidency of Turkey, emphasized in a message posted on social media on the occasion of 26 September Turkish Language Day that language is the most important bond between a nation’s past and future.
Duran stated: “The strongest bridge between a nation’s past and future is that nation’s language.”
Stressing that Turkish carries a great civilizational heritage from the Orkhon Inscriptions to Yunus Emre, Dede Korkut and today’s writers, he said: “We have kept our joys, sorrows, folk songs and stories alive in this language for centuries. Today, our duty is to preserve the richness of Turkish and to transmit it correctly, beautifully and powerfully to tomorrow. Happy Turkish Language Day.”
