35 fold increase of Iran gas exports to Turkey
Although trade between Iran and Turkey decreased by 3 percent in the first two months of 2026, Iran’s gas exports to Turkey saw a dramatic jump, increasing 3.5 times.
The trade value between the two countries in the first two months of this calendar year reached 918 million dollars, which is a 3 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
Turkey’s exports to Iran in January and February 2026 fell by 13 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 453 million dollars, whereas Turkey had exported 524 million dollars worth of goods to Iran during the same period last year.
In contrast, Turkey’s imports from Iran during this period increased by 10 percent, rising from 424 million dollars last year to 465 million dollars.
Iran’s gas exports to Turkey in the first two months of 2026 reached 930 million cubic meters, which represents a 3.5-fold increase compared to the same period last year (270 million cubic meters in January and February 2025).
Iran’s natural gas exports to Turkey for the entire year of 2025 had also reached 8.17 billion cubic meters, showing a 16 percent increase compared to the previous year.
