Opening of a New Border Crossing Between Iran and Turkey in the Kuze Rash Region
Yaghoub Rezazadeh, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, announced: “Following the efforts of the Iran–Turkey Friendship Group during its visit to Ankara, the establishment of the Kuze Rash border terminal has been finalized. Today, a delegation from the Government of Turkey arrived in Iran to designate the official gate of this customs post.”
He added: “With the determination of the official gate, containers will be temporarily stationed at the site so that, prior to the construction of the main buildings, passenger crossings through this border terminal can take place.”
In the same context, Ezzatollah Hemmati, Head of the Department of Border Legal Affairs at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the Kuze Rash–Gelinjek border crossing project in Salmas, said: “With the visit of the Turkish delegation, the exact location of the border gate has been determined, and both sides will begin practical operations for the construction of the border terminals.”
Hemmati emphasized: “Based on the agreements reached and drawing on the experience of other border crossings, the Kuze Rash terminal will be launched as the most modern and best-equipped border crossing between Iran and Turkey.”
Officials from both countries believe that with the completion of this terminal, the volume of trade exchanges and economic cooperation between Iran and Turkey will increase significantly.
