President of Turkey: Full Independence Not Possible Without Technological Independence
The President of Turkey emphasized the link between technology and national security, stating that digital sovereignty is an inseparable part of the country’s defense doctrine.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made these remarks at the unveiling ceremony of the “Havelsan Sancar” unmanned underwater vehicle and the opening of the Havelsan company’s center and facilities in Ankara, stating that today Turkey has reached a stage where it designs its own technology, produces its own software, and exports its products worldwide.
Referring to the country’s domestic capabilities, he added that there now exists a Turkey that implements the “3T model” (Detection, Identification, and Attack) by relying on its national and indigenous technology, and whose star shines brighter every day in the world.
Erdoğan emphasized that the complex inaugurated today is a strategic step towards strengthening the capacity of the country’s integrated defense ecosystem.
Stating that full independence is not possible without technological independence, the President of Turkey noted that if a country’s software is not national, one cannot speak of a secure future in that country.
He also referred to the recent achievements of the Turkish Armed Forces and said that our army, along with the “Bayraktar TB3” drone and the “TCG Anadolu” ship, created a true epic in the NATO exercise in Germany.
