Scientific Cooperation Between Urmia University and Turkish Universities Expands
In a meeting between the President of Urmia University and the Consul General of Turkey in the city, strategies for expanding joint cooperation in the fields of research opportunities, solving environmental issues, and organizing scientific and academic conferences were discussed.
Mahmoud Rezazade, President of Urmia University, highlighted the university’s capacities and historical background, stating: “Urmia University has so far signed cooperation agreements with many universities in Turkey.” He added that during his recent trip to Turkey, he met with administrators and professors at several universities and renewed a number of existing agreements. Rezazade expressed hope that these agreements would lead to practical and effective scientific cooperation contracts between Urmia University and Turkish universities.
During the meeting, Muslum Aygun, Consul General of Turkey in Urmia, also expressed his satisfaction with the standing of Urmia University, saying: “Urmia University is one of the most established scientific centers in Iran, and we will strive to expand joint scientific cooperation with this university.”
The session further emphasized the implementation of short-term joint research opportunities, the formation of joint working groups to address environmental challenges, and the organization of joint scientific and academic conferences.
