Turkey and South Korea signed four cooperation agreements
During Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Seoul, Turkey and South Korea signed four cooperation agreements in science and technology, natural resources, mining, energy, and financing of nuclear projects.
These agreements were signed at the Presidential Palace after the bilateral meeting of the presidents and negotiations between the delegations of the two countries, in the presence of Recep Tayyip Erdogan and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
The first agreement was drafted to expand cooperation in science, technology, and innovation and was signed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and South Korean Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyung hoon. The other two agreements were concluded between the responsible ministries of the two countries to develop bilateral cooperation in natural resources, mining, and energy.
The fourth agreement was signed between the Turkish Nuclear Energy Company and the Export Import Bank of Korea and focuses on cooperation in financing nuclear power plant projects.
These agreements were made in line with efforts by Ankara and Seoul to expand economic and technological relations and strengthen strategic partnerships, especially in the energy sector.
