Erdoğan in meeting with Abbas: Israel is a threat to Palestine and regional stability
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, in Ankara, emphasized that Israel’s recent attacks on Gaza have entered a new stage of “genocide.” He stressed that this regime threatens not only Palestine but also the stability of the entire region, describing the attack on Qatar as a clear example of this threat.
According to the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the latest developments in Palestine and regional issues were discussed during the meeting. Erdoğan, pointing to the growing number of leaders and intellectuals condemning Israel’s policies, said that efforts to intensify international pressure on the regime are continuing, and that Turkey will defend the Palestinian cause in every forum and platform.
The President of Turkey stated that his country’s priority is to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and to end the humanitarian crisis in the region. He added that Israel has consistently revealed its stance of undermining peace, and Turkey will be the voice of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly.
Erdoğan also underlined the necessity of unity in the Islamic world against Israel’s threats, noting that achieving political unity in Palestine would strengthen these efforts, and reaffirmed that Turkey will continue to support this process.
