Erdoğan’s Visit to New York for the United Nations Summit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, upon his arrival in New York to attend the 80th United Nations General Assembly, was warmly and enthusiastically welcomed by Turkish citizens living in the United States.
Erdoğan, accompanied by his wife Emine Erdoğan, proceeded to the “Turkevi” (Turkish House) in New York after landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport. There, they were greeted by a crowd of supporters waving Turkish flags, and the President and his wife spent some time speaking with those present.
In front of the “Turkevi,” responding to a question about his upcoming meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, Erdoğan said: “We have bilateral talks on regional issues, especially Syria, on our agenda. Every step taken in the Middle East is of vital importance to us, and it is necessary to discuss these matters with Mr. Trump as well.”
Following this program, President Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan, together with their delegation, entered the Turkish Grand National Assembly building in New York.
