Fidan: Iran-U.S. Negotiations at a Critical Stage
The Turkish Foreign Minister announced that the negotiations between Iran and the U.S. have made progress, but at the same time, military movements in the region are being closely monitored.
Hakan Fidan, the Turkish Foreign Minister, stated in a conversation with reporters regarding the negotiation process between Iran and the U.S. that this process, which began in Istanbul, is a very significant development. According to him, following that, the two sides met twice more in Muscat and Geneva.
Fidan added that he also spoke today with one of the parties in the U.S. to assess the direction in which the negotiation process is moving. According to him, there are currently several reasons for optimism, and the parties have shown positive signs in advancing certain specific issues.
He also pointed to the increased military movements in the region, emphasizing that these movements might be aimed at exerting pressure on the negotiation process or could be related to preparations for a possible military operation. Fidan noted that Turkey is closely following these developments.
The Turkish Foreign Minister further stated: “The U.S.-Iran negotiations are at a critical stage, and it remains to be seen when and how these advances will translate into tangible results.”
He expressed hope that the parties would be able to reach a solution through negotiation, without the need for military action or war.
