Erdogan: Separatist terrorism in northern Syria must be completely eliminated
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at the lottery ceremony for the delivery of over 6,000 housing units and the opening of the Aydın City Hospital complex in western Turkey, emphasized the necessity of cleansing Syria from terrorist groups. He stated that Arabs, Turkmens, Kurds, Alawites, and other Syrian citizens will be the beneficiaries of a unified Syria.
Referring to the discussions at the Davos Summit in Switzerland, Erdoğan stated, “Considering the issues raised at the Davos Summit, even the Western world itself has come to recognize the legitimacy of our criticisms regarding the international system.”
The Turkish President also mentioned the Syrian army’s operation to clear northeastern Syria from the occupation of the terrorist group YPG/PKK, adding, “When the threat of separatist terrorism in northern Syria is completely eliminated, not only the people of Syria but our entire region will be at ease.”
He continued, “The beneficiaries of a unified, integrated, and secure Syria will be Arabs, Turkmens, Kurds, Alawites, Druze, Christians, and all other Syrian citizens.”
In another part of his speech, Erdoğan stressed the need to continue the fight against the terrorist group ISIS in Syria, saying, “The fight against the ISIS terrorist group is stronger and more determined than ever, and by the grace of God, the roots of all types of terrorism in our region are drying up.”
