President Erdoğan: Solution to Iran-US Crisis is Dialogue, Not War
President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking to journalists on his return flight from Ethiopia, detailed Ankara’s positions regarding developments related to Iran and other regional issues.
Erdoğan explicitly stated, “As Türkiye, we have declared our opposition to any military intervention against Iran to all relevant parties.” Warning about the consequences of such an action, he added, “A new war targeting Iran would bring no gain to anyone; on the contrary, it is our region that will suffer.”
Emphasizing the necessity of resolving issues through diplomatic channels, the Turkish President said, “We want the problems between Iran and America to be resolved through dialogue.” He informed that he has been in contact with both sides: “We are in contact with both countries at the highest level; I recently spoke with the President of Iran as well.”
Describing Ankara’s approach, Erdoğan stated, “We are not a country that builds walls and fuels tensions, but rather we are in a position that builds bridges and lays the groundwork for peace. As long as the window of diplomacy remains open, there is hope; we will preserve and strengthen this hope.”
Underlining Türkiye’s standing in the region, the President noted, “I hope everyone now understands that without Türkiye’s presence, it is not possible to talk about creating a realistic security equation for Europe.”

Erdoğan also touched upon other important matters. Referring to the goal of a “Terror-Free Türkiye,” he said, “We are taking careful and decisive steps towards achieving this goal. We have initiated a charitable endeavor, and God willing, we will succeed.”
Regarding Gaza, Erdoğan stated, “I hope the Gaza Peace Council will contribute to establishing lasting stability, a ceasefire, and the long-awaited peace in the region. In my opinion, the Gaza issue is a test of humanity’s conscience.”
On the developments in Syria, he remarked, “We are closely monitoring the stages of full integration and providing necessary proposals for the implementation of agreements.”
The Turkish President further emphasized the importance of the family institution, expressing, “Our government is on full alert to protect the family structure and our country’s population. We will protect this foundation and take very serious steps in this regard.”
President Erdoğan concluded by once again stressing Ankara’s commitment to peaceful solutions and direct dialogue between Tehran and Washington.
