Turkey and Armenia Facilitate Visa Issuance for Holders of Official Passports
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey announced that Ankara and Yerevan, as of January 1, 2026, will issue free electronic visas (e-visas) for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports.
According to the statement by the Ministry, Turkey and Armenia, within the framework of the bilateral normalization process, have decided to facilitate visa issuance for holders of official passports of both countries.
This measure was taken following the agreement reached between the special representatives of the Turkey–Armenia normalization process. Based on this decision, holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports will be able to obtain free e-visas starting from the mentioned date.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey emphasized that this step aims to ease official travel, strengthen contacts between the two countries, and enhance mutual trust.
The statement also recalled that Ankara and Yerevan once again reaffirmed their commitment to continue the bilateral normalization process without preconditions and with the goal of achieving full normalization.
