Turkey: Netanyahu Government Responsible for Act of Piracy
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, strongly condemned the attack by Israeli forces on the Freedom Flotilla in international waters and described it as a clear act of piracy, which, according to the ministry, was carried out by the “genocidal” Netanyahu government.
The statement read: “The attack on the Freedom Flotilla in international waters is a grave violation of international law and an unacceptable act, the responsibility for which lies directly with the Government of Israel and with Netanyahu personally.”
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs further announced that all necessary diplomatic initiatives have been launched for the release and repatriation of the detained Turkish citizens, and that consultations with international institutions and relevant countries are ongoing.
