Turkey’s Cities Come to Life with “Nation’s Gardens”
In line with increasing urban green space per capita and creating recreational areas for citizens, the “Millet Bahçeleri” (Nation’s Gardens) project has reached a significant milestone, with 292 parks completed across Turkey. This initiative, part of the “Century of Turkey” vision, is designed to expand green spaces and enhance urban quality of life.
According to plans by Turkey’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, a total of 534 Nation’s Gardens are under development, covering 77 million 355 thousand 804 square meters collectively. These parks serve not only as the “green lungs” of cities but also as hubs for social and recreational activities for families.
So far, the project has been inaugurated in various Turkish cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and other major metropolitan areas, with citizens enthusiastically embracing these green spaces.
