Turkish Foreign Minister: Israel is the Main Actor in Al-Suwayda Crisis

Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Türkiye, identified Israel as the primary actor behind the crisis in Syria’s Al-Suwayda province during talks with Syrian officials in Ankara. Fidan met with Syrian Foreign Minister Esad Hasan Şibani, Defense Minister Merheb Abukasra, and Intelligence Chief Hasan Salama.

Fidan stated:
“Israel is the biggest actor on the dark stage of events in Al-Suwayda.”
He emphasized the necessity of establishing a Syria where “all ethnicities and religions coexist peacefully.”

The Turkish Foreign Minister firmly declared:
“The presence of terrorist groups like the YPG in Syria is unacceptable to us,”
demanding immediate cessation of their threatening activities.

On the other hand, Foreign Minister Şibani accused Israel of:
Violating national sovereignty
Endangering Syrian citizens’ security
He described Druze communities as an “inseparable part of Syrian society,” dismissing separatist claims as baseless.

Fidan concluded with a warning:
“We will continue to take necessary steps until Türkiye’s security demands are met.”
