Turkish Foreign Minister: Netanyahu Intends to Violate the Ceasefire
The Turkish Foreign Minister, in a joint press conference with his Estonian counterpart, stressed that the Israeli Prime Minister is seeking an excuse before the eyes of the world to violate the ceasefire and to resume criminal actions in Gaza.
Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, said on Friday at a press conference with Margus Tsahkna, Estonia’s Foreign Minister, in Ankara: “Netanyahu is openly looking for a pretext to violate the ceasefire and to continue the genocide in Gaza.”
Emphasizing the necessity of Israel’s commitment to the ceasefire agreement, he added: “Adherence to the ceasefire is essential to preserve the hope for lasting peace and to ensure regional security.”
Fidan also recalled that Turkey, by signing the Sharm El-Sheikh Declaration, has assumed an important responsibility and is working through close contact and coordination with the relevant countries to stabilize and sustain the ceasefire.
Pointing to the role of the international community in this process, he said: “It is of vital importance that the international community conveys clear and firm messages to Israel.”
The Turkish Foreign Minister further referred to his country’s humanitarian assistance to Gaza, stating: “Our humanitarian aid continues without interruption. Our ship carrying 900 tons of supplies reached Egypt’s Port of Al-Arish on October 17. Preparations for dispatching the next shipment are also nearing completion. God willing, this process will continue, and we will actively contribute to the reconstruction of Gaza as well.”
