The statement read: “We welcome the ceasefire in Gaza and hope that this ceasefire will put an end to the genocide that has been ongoing for two years. We expect the ceasefire agreement to be fully implemented.”
The Ministry further underlined the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza and the urgent start of reconstruction efforts in the region, adding that Turkey would continue to provide extensive humanitarian assistance. The statement also stressed that lasting peace in the Middle East is only possible through a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue, expressing hope that the momentum gained from the ceasefire negotiations would contribute to the implementation of a two-state solution in the future.
In conclusion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked Qatar, Egypt, and the United States for their mediation efforts in the ceasefire negotiations and affirmed that Turkey’s contribution and support would continue throughout the implementation of the agreement.
