15 Wanted Criminals Extradited to Turkey from Six Countries
The Turkish Ministry of Interior announced that 15 wanted criminals, some of whom were on Interpol’s international red notice list, have been extradited to Turkey from various countries. The individuals had previously been identified and arrested in Georgia, Germany, Greece, Belgium, Serbia, and Northern Cyprus.
According to the ministry’s statement, the operation was carried out in cooperation with the security and judicial authorities of the respective countries. Among those extradited, 14 were internationally sought with Interpol red notices, while one was only wanted at the national level.
Turkish authorities stated that the individuals were wanted in connection with various cases, including drug trafficking, cyber fraud, armed violence, and financial crimes. Some suspects were also linked to cases involving intentional homicide and sexual abuse of children.
The operation was conducted using intelligence obtained from Interpol databases, domestic information systems, and analysis by specialized Turkish police units. Since the current cabinet took office, the Ministry of Interior has successfully repatriated 407 fugitive criminals to the country.
