Eight Countries Condemn Israel’s Actions in the West Bank

The foreign ministers of eight countries, including Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, in a joint statement issued on February 9, 2026, strongly condemned Israel’s illegal decisions and actions in the occupied West Bank.

The statement emphasized that Israel’s recent actions aim to impose illegitimate sovereignty, expand settlements, and create new legal and administrative realities in the West Bank, and are part of the process of illegally annexing these territories and forcibly displacing Palestinians. It also clarified that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories.

The foreign ministers of these countries warned against the continuation of Israel’s expansionist and illegal policies and stated that these actions lead to escalating violence, increased tension, and conflict in the region. They described these policies as a clear violation of international law, undermining the two-state solution, and an infringement on the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state based on the pre-June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The statement also described Israel’s actions as contrary to United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334, as well as the 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which declared Israel’s presence and policies in the occupied territories illegal.

In conclusion, the international community was called upon to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities and compel Israel to stop escalating tensions, refrain from provocative statements by its officials, and respect the rights of Palestinians.
