Erdoğan and Turkey’s Defense Minister Meet with Military Personnel on Eid al-Adha
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Defense Minister Yaşar Güler met and held talks with members of the Turkish Armed Forces at the Kütahya Air Force Training Command on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
In a phone call with personnel at the base, Erdoğan extended his Eid greetings, stating:
“I wholeheartedly congratulate all the heroic members of our armed forces and their families on this blessed Eid. You serve with dedication in every corner of this homeland and the world.”
Turkey’s Defense Minister also attended the ceremony and, after performing the Eid prayer, spoke with Erdoğan over the phone. Güler said:
“Our brave soldiers are always ready and determined to ensure the nation’s security and peace. As the Turkish Armed Forces, we sincerely congratulate you on this Eid.”

The Turkish President went on to reference the country’s thousand-year military history, honoring martyrs and veterans, adding:
“From Manzikert to today, this land has been watered with the blood of our martyrs. We owe them a debt of gratitude for their sacrifices.”
He also highlighted the Turkish Air Force’s key role in protecting the airspace of the “sky homeland” and commended the training of 35,000 soldiers annually at this base.
The event concluded with Erdoğan’s message to the armed forces:
“May you prosper, stay well, and be entrusted to God. Happy Eid.”
