Erdoğan: Venezuela must not be driven into instability
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, speaking at a press conference following a cabinet meeting, announced that during his phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, he emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in Venezuela.
He stated: “We do not approve of any action that violates international law. Our effort is always to take the best decision both for Turkey and for the friendly and brotherly people of Venezuela.”
Erdoğan added: “In our phone call with Mr. Trump, we conveyed our country’s sensitivities regarding developments in Venezuela and once again stressed that this nation must not be pushed toward instability.”
The Turkish President warned about the consequences of violating the sovereign rights of states, saying: “Disregarding international law is a dangerous step that can lead to serious consequences and complexities on a global scale.”
He also expressed support for the people of Venezuela, noting: “Turkey will always stand by the friendly people of Venezuela on the path of prosperity, peace, and development.”
Erdoğan further highlighted Turkey’s principled stance in international affairs: “From Gaza to Syria, wherever there is injustice, lawlessness, and oppression, Turkey has declared its position clearly. When it comes to our principles, nothing prevents us from speaking the truth.”
In conclusion, he emphasized: “Turkey is achieving accomplishments in all fields that the world follows with attention, admiration, and sometimes with astonishment and envy. No one can stop this progress.”
