Establishment of Iran Turkey Joint Free Zone Accelerates
The head of the Iran-Turkey Friendship Group announced 10 trillion Toman in foreign investment in Khoy’s textile industry, calling it an effective step in the development of West Azerbaijan.
Adil Najafzadeh stated during a meeting to review issues in Khoy’s Ivughli district: The Cabinet has authorized the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Free Zones to negotiate an agreement for the establishment of a joint Iran-Turkey free zone. Accordingly, 7,000 hectares of this zone will be located within the Ivughli area.
Najafzadeh described the purpose of this agreement as developing economic cooperation, facilitating the transit of goods and passengers, creating employment, and revitalizing border regions while preserving the national sovereignty of both countries.
Najafzadeh also announced the preparation of rural development documents, follow-up on resolving internet and water issues in villages before the New Year (Nowruz), and the allocation of 910 billion Rials for the Qapliq-Ivughli project.
The Governor of Khoy also reported on the organization of the Tabriz-Bazargan corridor and round-the-clock construction operations along this route, emphasizing the acceleration of infrastructure project completion.
The meeting’s resolutions included organizing the Ivughli entrance bridge, roadbed preparation, constructing a pedestrian overpass, completing unfinished schools, and contributing to the construction of a commercial complex.
