Hakan Fidan’s Participation in the Vienna Meeting
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended the thirty-second meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), held in Vienna, the capital of Austria, and delivered a speech before the ministers present. According to statements issued by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan also held a series of bilateral and institutional meetings on the sidelines of the gathering.
In his meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Fidan discussed the course of negotiations aimed at ending the Russia–Ukraine war. The talks also addressed relations between Turkey and the European Union, during which Fidan underlined that EU membership remains a strategic objective for Ankara.
Fidan further met with Feridun Sinirlioğlu, Secretary General of the OSCE, in a discussion that formed part of his side program in Vienna. In addition, the Turkish Foreign Minister held talks with Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
Another meeting took place with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, focusing on bilateral relations and regional cooperation, particularly in the South Caucasus. Fidan also met with Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
These engagements highlight Turkey’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen bilateral ties, enhance regional cooperation, and play an active role in international processes.
