Erdoğan: Israeli Cabinet is the Biggest Obstacle to Peace and Stability in the Region
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, strongly attacked the Israeli government in a speech at an international meeting in Istanbul, describing it as the “biggest obstacle to peace and stability” in the region.
Referring to recent developments, Erdoğan said the world has witnessed the deaths of thousands of people in Palestine and Lebanon as a result of Israeli attacks, as well as the displacement of over one million Lebanese from their homes. He emphasized that this situation represents an “international failure to stop human rights violations.”
The Turkish President added that the Israeli occupation government has not adhered to ceasefire agreements and is preventing the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. He also criticized the escalation of tensions in Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the West Bank, as well as what he called “settler terrorism.”
Erdoğan warned against the Zionist regime’s plans to turn the West Bank into a “new Gaza” and condemned the proposed law targeting Palestinian prisoners, stating that it perpetuates apartheid policies.
He called on parliaments around the world to take a firmer stance against Israel’s policies and to work towards the implementation of the two-state solution, which he described as “the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace.”
In conclusion, Erdoğan said that the lack of international justice and double standards have exacerbated crises, and that in an environment where diplomacy is set aside in favor of military force, “no one is safe.”
