Barzani and Khatibzadeh Emphasize Expansion of Erbil-Baghdad-Tehran Relations
Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and Dr. Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) in Turkey, emphasized the necessity of expanding trilateral relations among Erbil, Baghdad, and Tehran.
During the meeting, the parties, while reviewing regional developments and the latest status of the wars, stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, strengthening dialogue and understanding, preventing tensions, and avoiding the repetition of war. Establishing reconciliation and maintaining peace and stability across the Middle East were among other points of agreement.
Barzani and Khatibzadeh also emphasized strengthening and developing joint cooperation among Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, assessing such cooperation as serving their common interests.
It is worth noting that Nechirvan Barzani will hold meetings with a number of leaders, presidents, prime ministers, and prominent international figures on the sidelines of this forum. The fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum, with the participation of high-ranking officials from various countries, has provided a platform for dialogue on the world’s important issues, crises, and their solutions.
