Zelenskyy Announces Readiness for Trilateral Negotiations Hosted by Baku
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, announced on Saturday during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev that his country is ready to participate in trilateral negotiations with the United States and Russia, hosted by the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Zelenskyy emphasized that it is very important for Ukraine that Russia finds the ability to end this unjust war. He also added that he greatly values the mediating role of his partners in this process.
It is worth noting that the Office of the President of Russia announced in March of last year, via a statement, the suspension of joint Moscow-Washington-Kyiv negotiations. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, at that time cited “other priorities of the United States” as the reason for this suspension and described it as understandable.
