Strong Condemnation of Israel’s Actions by Eight Arab and Islamic Countries
The foreign ministers of eight Arab and Islamic countries, in a joint statement, strongly condemned the repeated actions of the Zionist regime in desecrating Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
This joint statement was issued by the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
In the statement, the foreign ministers of the aforementioned countries described the repeated incursions by settlers and extremist ministers — carried out under the protection of Israeli police — into Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the raising of the Israeli flag in its courtyards, as a blatant violation of international law and an insult to the feelings of Muslims worldwide.
The statement emphasized that the entire area of Al-Aqsa Mosque is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Waqf Administration, affiliated with the Ministry of Awqaf of Jordan, is the sole legal and exclusive authority for managing the affairs of this mosque.
The foreign ministers of these eight countries also condemned Israel’s decision to approve the construction of more than 30 new settlements, considering it a clear violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague of 2024.
The statement, while condemning the escalation of settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and attacks on schools and children, called for accountability of the perpetrators of these crimes.
The eight countries affirmed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories and that they reject any attempt to annex these lands or forcibly displace the Palestinian people.
At the conclusion of the statement, the international community was called upon to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to halt Israel’s destabilizing actions, and to work towards the realization of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.
