Leadership of Russian, Ukrainian, and German Citizens in Purchasing Homes in Turkey
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), foreign nationals purchased 1,943 residential units in Turkey in November of this year, accounting for 1.4 percent of total housing transactions.
The highest number of home sales to foreigners in Turkey was recorded in Istanbul and Antalya. Among the buyers, Russian citizens with 310 units, Ukrainian citizens with 159 units, and German citizens with 151 units had the largest shares.
Moreover, housing purchases by foreign nationals in November decreased by 9.7 percent compared to the same period last year, while in the period from January through the end of November, a decline of 11.1 percent compared to the previous year was reported.
