Mayor of Manisa in Critical Condition After Electric Shock
The Mayor of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality is in serious condition after suffering an electric shock at his private residence. According to a statement from Hafsa Sultan Hospital, his heart stopped after the incident, but his pulse returned following 70 minutes of resuscitation efforts (20 minutes at the scene by emergency teams and 50 minutes at the hospital).
Hospital Director Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu emphasized that the mayor’s condition is extremely concerning due to severe damage to vital organs, including the heart, lungs, and kidneys. A team of specialists in cardiology, neurology, anesthesiology, and intensive care is monitoring him around the clock.
Topçu added, “This is an extremely dynamic process, and the situation could change at any moment. It is not yet possible to predict recovery or deterioration, but with consultations from doctors across Turkey and the support of the Ministry of Health, the best possible treatment is being administered.”
