Trilateral Meeting of Türkiye, the US, and Ukraine
High-level representatives from Türkiye, the US, and Ukraine gathered in Istanbul yesterday to discuss ways to end the war in Ukraine. The trilateral meeting, held at the Dolmabahçe Presidential Office, allowed participants to exchange views on the latest regional developments.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour, was attended by the foreign ministers of Türkiye and the US, as well as senior Ukrainian officials. Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated in a declaration that his country is fully prepared to establish a ceasefire and continue peace negotiations. He also emphasized the need for direct talks between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia.

Simultaneously with this meeting, Turkish officials are preparing to host another trilateral dialogue involving Russian representatives. Vladimir Medinsky, advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has also arrived in Istanbul to participate in the talks.
Türkiye has hosted multiple rounds of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine over the past two years. Ankara previously played a key role in the signing of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. However, previous peace efforts had not yielded results.
This new round of talks takes place as the war in Ukraine enters its third year. The international community hopes these discussions could pave the way for reducing tensions in the region.
