Trump’s representatives are traveling to Turkey regarding the Russia-Ukraine negotiations
Keith Kellogg and Steve Wietek, Donald Trump’s representatives for Ukraine, Russia, and Western Asia, will travel to Istanbul as part of the Russia-Ukraine peace talks.
According to U.S. CNN, Donald Trump will also travel to Istanbul if Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, participates in the negotiations.
A U.S. government official claimed that Putin would come under pressure if Trump joined the talks, stating, ‘Right now, everything is changing rapidly.’
It is worth noting that Vladimir Putin had previously proposed starting peace talks with Ukraine on May 15 in Istanbul and requested that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, prepare the groundwork for the negotiations.

Donald Trump, the U.S. President, responded to a question about his possible attendance at the Russia-Ukraine meeting in Istanbul during remarks to reporters at the White House, saying: ‘I don’t know where I’ll be at that moment. I’ll probably be somewhere in the Middle East, but if I feel my presence there would be useful, I could fly there (to Istanbul).’
Russian and Ukrainian officials recently announced that they have reached an agreement to hold peace talks in Istanbul. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 15.
