Turkey Condemns Israel’s Attack on Iran: “A Clear Violation of International Law”
Following Israel’s airstrike on targets in Tehran, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement strongly condemning the act, describing it as a threat to regional stability and a clear violation of international law.
According to reports by Daily Sabah and Anadolu Agency, the spokesperson for the Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized:
“This attack is not only a violation of Iran’s sovereignty but has also pushed the region to the brink of a full-scale war. The international community must act immediately to contain tensions.”
Additionally, Ömer Çelik, spokesperson for the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter):
“This attack is an unlawful and barbaric act aimed solely at diverting global attention from the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza.”
Turkey had previously condemned similar Israeli attacks in Syria and Lebanon, calling for restraint and diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts. Ankara now urges the UN Security Council to hold an emergency session to prevent further escalation of tensions.
