Turkish and French Leaders Held Talks on Gaza
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron at the latter’s request.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the two sides discussed regional and global developments in the phone call, particularly Turkey-France relations, the latest situation in the Gaza Strip, and the peace process between Ukraine and Russia.
The Turkish President stated that Turkey’s efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia with a just peace continue and that they are closely following the contacts in Alaska and Washington.
Erdoğan, noting that Turkey is ready to host any effort for peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, emphasized that Turkey is working to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and considers it essential to curb Israel’s adventurism.
He also said that Turkey attaches importance to developing cooperation with France and that they will continue to take steps to advance relations in many areas, especially the defense industry.
