Turkish Foreign Minister’s Ceasefire Talks with Hamas
Following the new U.S. proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza, which received American approval, the Hamas movement is currently reviewing the offer. Turkey, as one of the key regional actors, is now engaged in diplomatic efforts to end the war in Gaza.
According to a Turkish diplomatic source, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone on Thursday with officials from Hamas’ political bureau about ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.

The source added that Fidan also held a phone call with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani to discuss developments in Gaza and Syria, though no further details were provided.
Earlier, Bassem Naim, a senior Hamas official, stated that the U.S. ceasefire proposal essentially means the continuation of the slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and would not end Zionist brutality in the enclave.
