Turkish Minister of National Defense: The ultimate goal is to end terrorism
According to the statement of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, Yaşar Güler, Minister of National Defense, during his visit to the Artillery and Missile School Command in Polatlı, Ankara, once again emphasized the government’s determination in the fight against terrorism. He said: “No terrorist organization, particularly PKK/YPG/SDG, will be allowed to continue its activities in the region or to impose any faits accomplis.”
During the visit, Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Commander of the Naval Forces Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, Commander of the Air Forces General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, and Commander of the Land Forces General Metin Tokel were also present.
Güler, highlighting the extensive activities of the Turkish Armed Forces in 2025, stressed that the army fulfilled its duties with dedication and discipline to ensure the country’s security and will enter 2026 with the same determination. He added: “Through effective operations both at home and beyond the borders, the mobility of terrorist organizations has been significantly restricted, while their resources for shelter, logistics, and manpower have been severely weakened. These achievements have laid the groundwork for the ‘Terror-Free Turkey’ initiative.”
The Minister of National Defense also underlined the importance of artillery and missile systems in modern warfare, emphasizing the strategic role of this training center in enhancing the combat capabilities of the Land Forces.
Güler noted that, in addition to combating terrorism, Turkey defends its rights and interests in the Black Sea, the Aegean, and the Eastern Mediterranean with determination, and that no action contrary to Turkey’s national interests will ever be accepted.
He concluded: “Our ultimate goal is to eradicate terrorism and eliminate all threats against our country. Drawing strength from our history and deep-rooted state tradition, the Turkish Armed Forces will continue to be the strongest guarantor of Turkey’s security and stability.”
