Turkish Ministry of Defense Spokesperson: 7 PKK Members Surrendered
Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Spokesperson of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, announced during his weekly press briefing that seven members of the terrorist organization PKK surrendered to security forces over the past week.
He added that during the same period, 249 individuals, including one PKK member, were apprehended while attempting to enter the country illegally, and entry of another 1,685 people was prevented. Thus, since the beginning of this year, the number of people detained at Turkey’s borders has reached 8,794, while illegal entry of 59,030 individuals has been thwarted.
The spokesperson also referred to the ongoing counterterrorism operations of the Turkish Armed Forces in northern Syria, stating that since January 8 of this year, a total of 723 kilometers of tunnels used by terrorists in the Manbij region have been destroyed.
