Visit of Turkey’s Defense Minister to the United Kingdom
Turkey’s National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar traveled to London at the official invitation of Ben Wallace, the UK Defense Secretary, and was received as Wallace’s official guest.
Wallace announced in a tweet that Hulusi Akar, Turkey’s Defense Minister, had arrived in London at his invitation.
In London, Akar will hold talks with his British counterpart on bilateral and regional security issues as well as cooperation in the field of defense industries.
Their discussions are expected to focus on the following topics:
Provision of the TFX fighter jet engine by Rolls-Royce
Challenges regarding Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership
Coordination against Russia in Ukraine
Dialogue as two key European NATO members
Another important part of the visit was the examination of Turkish defense industry products by both sides.
It should be noted that Ben Wallace had also visited Turkey in November this year at Akar’s invitation and toured the “SAHA Expo” aviation and defense exhibition.
