125 ISIS Suspects Detained in Turkey’s Simultaneous Operations
Turkey’s Interior Minister announced that during simultaneous security operations across 25 provinces, 125 individuals suspected of membership in the terrorist organization ISIS were detained.
Ali Yerlikaya, the Interior Minister, wrote this morning on his account on Turkey’s national social media platform that the operations were carried out under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command and the General Directorate of Security, by provincial gendarmerie commands and police departments.
According to him, the operations were conducted simultaneously in the provinces of Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Aydın, Bursa, Eskişehir, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Mersin, Uşak, Istanbul, Niğde, Sakarya, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Hakkari, Osmaniye, İzmir, Iğdır, Nevşehir, Erzurum, Denizli, Kırklareli, Şanlıurfa, and Yalova.
Yerlikaya, emphasizing the government’s determination to counter security threats, said:
“Those who plot against our brotherhood, unity, and solidarity, those who seek to exploit our faith and attack our values, will face the power of the state and the unity of the nation.”
