Ankara Becomes the Tourism Capital of the Turkic World in 2026
With the official handover of the symbolic key of the “Tourism Capital of the Turkic World” from the city of Manas to Ankara, the Turkish capital will host tourism, cultural, and artistic programs and events of the Turkic World throughout 2026.
This title, granted by the Organization of Turkic States, symbolizes Ankara’s distinguished position in the field of Turkic World tourism. According to the announcement by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, the symbolic key was handed over from Manas — the Tourism Capital of the Turkic World in 2025 — to Ankara, which has earned the title for 2026.
With this designation, Ankara will serve as the stage for tourism visions, cultural and artistic festivals, and city-promotion programs during 2026. The purpose of awarding this title is to strengthen cultural diplomacy and highlight solidarity among the countries of the Turkic World, turning Ankara into a meeting point of shared memory and tourism in this sphere.
