Beginning of the Fergani FGN-100-d2 Space Mission
The second satellite of Fergani Uzay, developed entirely with national engineering capabilities and recognized as the largest private-sector satellite in Turkey, was successfully launched into space.
Baykar announced that the FGN-100-d2 satellite was sent into Earth’s orbit yesterday at 08:09 a.m. local time in Turkey from the Cape Canaveral SLC-40 space base in the United States. The satellite was designed and manufactured by Fergani Uzay, a company founded by Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of Baykar.
This launch successfully completed the second phase of the Fergani Space positioning satellite constellation project.
Weighing 104 kilograms, the FGN-100-d2 satellite was carried into space as part of SpaceX’s Bandwagon-4 mission. Approximately 74 minutes after launch, at 09:23 a.m. Turkey time, it separated from the launch vehicle and entered its designated orbit. Shortly afterward, it transmitted its first telemetry data, officially commencing its mission.
The launch process was monitored in real time by Selçuk Bayraktar and his team from the Space Observation and Control Center at the Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center.
