Turkey’s Interior Ministry announced a nationwide counter-terrorism operation across 47 provinces, resulting in the arrest of 298 individuals accused of ties to the ISIS terrorist group. The operation was carried out in coordination with security agencies, including the Interior Ministry, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), police, and gendarmerie.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, the suspects were detained on charges of involvement in ISIS’s organizational structure, financing the group, and spreading its propaganda. During the raids, authorities also confiscated illegal weapons, organizational documents, and digital propaganda materials.
Yerlikaya emphasized in a statement: “Terrorism is a threat to our national security, and we will continue our fight with full determination.” Major provinces such as Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir were among the targeted areas.
