Emine Erdoğan: Education as a Tool for Global Peace and Solidarity
Emine Erdoğan, the wife of the President of Türkiye, in a video message to the Fifth Meeting of Spouses of World Leaders held in Kyiv, described education as the only force capable of restoring humanity’s dignity and honor in the face of war, oppression, poverty, and humanitarian crises.
Referring to the influence of human role models in her life, she mentioned Şule Yüksel Şenler as the source of inspiration for her social and humanitarian activities, saying: “From her, I learned that value-centeredness and a sense of responsibility form the foundation of serving humanity.”
Emine Erdoğan stressed that education should not be limited merely to the transfer of knowledge, but should serve as a platform for nurturing individuals who are devoted to humanity. In her view, a generation raised with the concepts of justice, compassion, and morality will use technology in a correct and humane way.
She also referred to the activities of the Turkish Maarif Foundation in 55 countries around the world, emphasizing her country’s commitment to expanding fair and inclusive education, and added: “The world needs a future that children in Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, and Africa can look to with hope.”
In conclusion, Emine Erdoğan expressed her hope that this meeting would mark a new beginning for building a fairer world, full of peace, solidarity, and human compassion.
