Erdoğan: Türkiye is the 11th country in the world in defense exports
President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, announced that the country ranks 11th globally in defense industry exports.
Speaking at the ceremony marking the start of construction of a new 300-meter aircraft carrier at the Naval Forces Command in Istanbul, Erdoğan said: “Türkiye has managed to secure the 11th position worldwide in defense industry exports.”
Pointing to the remarkable growth in Türkiye’s defense and aviation exports, Erdoğan added: “In the first eleven months of this year, exports in this sector increased by 30 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 7 billion 445 million dollars. In every defense project, beyond producing equipment, we also aim to develop integrated system capabilities and new technologies.”
He emphasized: “All stages of our defense industry, from research and development to design, software, and mass production, are carried out nationally and indigenously. Investments in this sector do not mean preparing for war; rather, they are aimed at safeguarding peace, independence, and the future.”
Addressing critics, the President of Türkiye said: “Do not listen to the messengers of pessimism. Everything we have achieved so far has been accomplished despite them, and new promises are on the way. We are launching projects one after another that will strengthen our deterrence on land, at sea, in the air, and in cyberspace.”
Finally, Erdoğan, referring to the beginning of construction of the new aircraft carrier, noted: “This vessel, which will be built with a length of 300 meters, will be the sister ship of the ‘Anadolu TCG.’”
